Former Walker Cracker Barrel Will be Demolished-

Existing Cracker Building

Planned Baxter BioLife Plasma Center

New $3 Million Baxter BioLife Building to Start Construction
Grand Rapids, Michigan - The former Cracker Barrel restaurant located off Alpine Ave., NW in the Green Ridge Square Shopping Center in the City of Walker will be demolished. In its place, Baxter BioLife, a national medical company will construct their third plasma collection center in the Grand Rapids market. Their other locations are on Broadmoor, SE Kentwood & Lake Michigan Drive, NW Walker.

This 15,000 square foot facility will bring many people to the new location each month that will receive cash or retail store gift cards for their plasma contribution. Donors feel good about their involvement since blood plasma is used in many beneficial medical products produced by the Baxter Corporation.

The surrounding retailers are excited about this re-development that will bring increased traffic right by their front door every day. The Cracker Barrel restaurant has been closed for the past two years.

Mark Baker, CCIM of Prime Development located the site on behalf of Baxter's national broker Staubach Company. The seller was represented by Coldwell Banker Woodland - Mike Nagelkirk.

The project cost is estimated to be nearly $3 Million.
